i have lots of dark patches and scars on my arms (i am a really active and clumsy kid) i really want 2 get rid of them fast so i can wear t-shirts in the summer without being asked "dude what happened to your arm?"

2. Hydroquinone is the major and most tested skin lightening ingredient and is available over the counter in concoctions that contain 2% ( you can get up to 4% from a dermatologists). (Currently though, I believe there is controversy on whether or not hydroquinone causes skn damage).
That said, some effective, high quality hydroquinone containing brand products are:
Ambi (most popular and widely available)
Black Opal
Nadinola
Porcelana
Fair %26amp; White (which "Exclusive Whitener" is reported to be the best)
Using these products twice a day for 2-6 weeks (depending on your sensitivity) will produce results. But you shouldn't use them for any longer than that. It takes about 2 weeks to see small results. And you absolutely MUST use sunscreen when using these products because your skin will be extra sensitive to sun, and sun is what darkens skin in the first place.
3. Some natural alternatives to even skin tone with chemicals (although takes much longer to see results) are lemon, cocoa butter, vitamine E.
