What is the best face cream for dry skin? How long should you use the product until you know it works?

My skin is dry, especially when going into the cold weather. It is also sensitive and I don't break out easily (only when I use a new product that face reacts to) and my skin is not oily.

Mary Kay made my skin extremely dry. I've used Oil of Olay face lotion SPF15 for regular and sensitive skin and the UV defense, but I constantly have to continue to moisturize.

I heard creams are better for dry skin, so I 'm using Oil of Olay moisturizing cream for sensitive skin. I also bought the Neutrogena wash and oil free moistruizer for sensitive skin, but I know that I need to use one for a long period to see which works better. I haven't gotten to see yet if I need to keep re-moisturizing with the Oil of Olay cream yet, but does anyone have any helpful advice or suggestions? It'll be much appreciated! thanks!

Cetaphil cream (not the lotion, the cream). I've heard good things about Cerave, too, but it made me break out.
Reply:any decent moisturizer will do the trick if applied every day. we all get dry skin in the winter because the air is so dry. it often takes trial and error before you find the right product for you. they don't have to be the priciest ones on the market.
Reply:Both Mary Kay and Oil of Olay are made with the same base products - mineral oil. Mineral oil is a petroleum-based by-product. Petroleum comes from crude oil. You need to get away from mineral oil based products, including make-up that is mineral oil based. Read your labels.

Neutrogena is extremely drying, no matter if it is for sensitive skin or not. If you have dry skin, you NEED oil for a moisturizer. You just need the right kind of stuff.

For cleansing, you can try products made with goat's milk or olive oil. Try the Zum Bar. It is soft and can be used on your whole body. http://www.indigowild.com/

You can also try DHC - they send you free samples of their olive oil cleanser. Talk about super soft skin!!!!

And who told you that you have to use a product for a long time to notice the difference? That is a bunch of bu**sh**. If a face product is supposed to ease your dry skin, then you should notice a difference the moment you use it. I know, I used to be a Mary Kay Rep. I don't do it anymore because I found out that mineral oil is bad for the skin.
Reply:try to use natural creams with a plant called aloe vera,

it hydrates dry skins, and helps to stop irritations

good luck
Reply:For dry skin, use a creamy cleanser to melt away dirt. Leave it on your skin before sweeping it away with cotton wool. Splash cold water onto your face to clean and refresh your skin. Use a thick cream moisturizer to seal in as much moisture as possible and have a refreshing feel.check out http://tipsfromruby-skincare.blogspot.co...
Reply:Skin So Silky is the one that works best. It's a natural skin care cream that safely smoothens your skin to the healthiest it can be. A good skin care product like Skin So Silky works at a minimum time for less than a week. Beware of too active skin care treatments. They might give harsh results.
